Now... why do we cut the four cards off? At the end we wanna have three cards. And at each "round" we take 1/2 of the cards off. When we take 4 cards off the 52 cards deck, we have 48 cards left, which is 3*16 ..16 is a power of 2 so we can devide by two all the time. Excuse my english, I'm just a dumb Europian ^.^

it is because of wht u do and tht bit near the end if u started down first thn up thn down thn up ect... it wouldnt work and

The first card is always the 11th card from the bottom (of course, before you place the 4 top cards at the bottom), the second card will be the 27th, and the third card will be 43rd card... Try it...

you had 10 in one pile one more card is an odd and 15 cards in one pile plus 16 even! 52 cards together ad that togerther those 16 will become odds becuase the way u star now cuaseing every card to be in the unseen pile!!!
